New Functional Ceramic Materials (1)

Ceramic materials manufactured by using the special functions of ceramics on physical properties such as sound, light, electricity, magnetism, and heat are called functional ceramics. There are many types of functional ceramics with different uses. For example, electronic materials such as conductive ceramics, semiconductor ceramics, dielectric ceramics, insulating ceramics can be made according to the difference in electrical properties of ceramics, which are used to make capacitors, resistors, high-temperature and high-frequency devices in the electronic industry, transformers and other electronic parts.

Semiconductor ceramics

Semiconductor ceramics refers to poly crystalline ceramic materials formed by ceramic technology, with semiconductor characteristics and electrical conductivity of about 10-6 ~ 105S/m. The conductivity of semiconductor ceramics changes significantly due to changes in external conditions (temperature, light, electric field, atmosphere and temperature, etc.), so the physical quantity changes in the external environment can be converted into electrical signals to make sensitive components for various purposes.

Magnetic ceramic material

Magnetic ceramics are also called ferries. These materials refer to composite oxide magnetic materials composed of iron ions, oxygen ions and other metal ions, and there are a few magnetic oxides that do not contain iron. Ferries are mostly semiconductors, and their resistivity is much higher than that of general metal magnetic materials, and they have the advantage of small eddy current loss. In the field of high frequency and microwave technology, such as radar technology, communication technology, space technology, electronic computer and so on, it has been widely used .

High temperature superconducting ceramics

Superconducting oxide ceramics with higher critical temperature. Its superconducting critical temperature is above the liquid helium temperature region, and the crystal structure is evolved from the Dnepropetrovsk structure. High temperature superconducting ceramics have higher superconducting temperatures than metals. Since the great breakthrough in the research of superconducting ceramics in the 1980s, the research and application of high-temperature superconducting ceramic materials have attracted much attention. At present, the application of high-temperature superconducting materials is developing towards high-current applications, electronic applications, and diamagnetism.

Insulating Ceramics

Also known as device ceramics. It is used as various insulators, insulating structural parts, band switches and capacitor support brackets, electronic component packaging shells, integrated circuit substrates and packaging shells, etc. Insulating ceramics have the characteristics of high volume resistivity, low dielectric coefficient, low loss factor, high dielectric strength, corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties.
