The structure of rechargeable lithium ion battery includes a battery cell, a battery shell containing the battery cell and a battery cover plate assembly at one end of the battery shell. The composition of the battery cover plate assembly also includes a liquid injection port, an explosion-proof valve, a positive and negative electrode through the hole, a positive and negative electrode pole through the hole, and a sealing material between the hole and the pole. The battery cover plate assembly is connected to the battery shell by laser welding, and its air tightness is easy to be guaranteed. However, the electrical insulation material between the electrode pole and the inner wall of the through hole on the battery cover plate is a weak link, which is prone to leakage and affect the battery life and produce safety risks. The most serious case is combustion and explosion. Therefore, the battery cover plate component, its safety, service life, sealing, aging resistance, electrical insulation and the size of the space occupied in the battery are of great significance.
The sealing ring is located under the battery cover plate, which is used to form a sealed conductive connection between the power battery cover plate and the pole, to ensure that the battery has good tightness, prevent the leakage of electrolyte, and provide a good closed environment for the battery internal reaction. At the same time, when the battery cover is pressed down, it can also be used as a decompression buffer to ensure the normal operation of the battery internal components, which is an important guarantee for the battery life and safety supply.
The purpose of the seal ring is not only to ensure the sealing performance of the battery, but also to save lives at critical moments. Generally, at least one weak part will be set on the sealing ring, and its strength is lower than other parts of the main plane. When the gas pressure inside the battery increases abnormally before the explosion pressure of the battery, the weak part of the seal ring can be broken, the gas inside the battery is released from the fracture, and according to the set gas flow route emission, put an end to the unexpected airflow, prevent the battery from strong explosion. Now the ceramic sealing ring is more and more used in the power lithium battery industry.
